Preoperative Right Ventricular Echocardiographic Parameters Predict Perioperative Cardiovascular Complications in Patients Undergoing High risk Non-Cardiac Surgery
نویسندگان
چکیده
Background: Every year, 200 million people worldwide have major non-cardiac surgery (NCS), and 10 experience a significant cardiac problem during the first 30 days following NCS. Perioperative cardiovascular complications (PCCs), are extremely since they contribute to at least one-third of perioperative mortality, lengthen hospital stays, raise medical expenses.

Preoperative NT-proBNP and CRP predict perioperative major cardiovascular events in non-cardiac surgery
OBJECTIVE To investigate whether simple and non-invasive measurement of N-terminal pro-brain natriuretic peptide (NT-proBNP) and/or C-reactive protein (CRP) can predict perioperative major cardiovascular event (PMCE). DESIGN Prospective, single-centre, cohort study. SETTING A 1900-bed tertiary-care university hospital in Seoul, Korea Design and PATIENTS The predictive power of NT-proBNP, ...
متن کاملPerioperative changes in platelet count and function in patients undergoing cardiac surgery
Background: Patients undergoing cardiac surgery are at increased risk of bleeding due to multifactorial coagulopathies. In the present study, we aimed at investigating the changes in platelet count and function during and after surgery as well as determining the association of the platelet dysfunction with bleeding and transfusion requirements in these patients. Methods: A total o...
متن کاملEvaluation of Advanced Echocardiographic Parameters of Right Ventricular in Patients with Pulmonary Hypertension
Background and Objective: Pulmonary hypertension is an increase in blood pressure of the pulmonary artery which leads to right ventricular dysfunction. Therefore, the present study aimed to compare echocardiographic parameters in the study of right ventricular failure in patients with pulmonary hypertension. Materials and Methods: In the present descriptive cross-sectional study, data were col...
متن کاملPrognostic value of right ventricular myocardial performance index in patients undergoing coronary artery bypass surgery
Abstract Background: Right ventricular myocardial performance index (RVMPI) is a Doppler–derived parameter of non-geometrical ventricular function that measures both systolic and diastolic functions of the right ventricle. The aim of this study is to compare prognostic value of RVMPI with global RV function in patients undergoing Coronary Artery Bypass Graft (CABG). Methods: In a longitudinal ...
متن کاملPerioperative cardiovascular complications versus perioperative bleeding in consecutive patients with known cardiac disease undergoing non-cardiac surgery. Focus on antithrombotic medication. The PRAGUE-14 registry
BACKGROUND Interruption of antithrombotic treatment before surgery may prevent bleeding, but at the price of increasing cardiovascular complications. This prospective study analysed the impact of antithrombotic therapy interruption on outcomes in non-selected surgical patients with known cardiovascular disease (CVD). METHODS All 1200 consecutive patients (age 74.2 ± 10.2 years) undergoing maj...
